Actually, two athletes have already landed in the States a few weeks ago. We are talking about Ruxandra Flueras who is already training with the women's volleyball team of Colby Community College, Kansas, ahead of the official start of the new NJCAA season.
It is with great joy that we announce the decision of the NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) board members, which met last December, to add 4 sports, including men's volleyball, following a survey that evaluated those that have increased interest. Along with volleyball, cheer, target shooting and women's wresling were also selected "emerging sports".
Filippo told us about his experience so far at Life University, between his studies in Business Administration and rugby.
You arrived in America after a few summer experiences. When did you start thinking about this experience and what was your athletic and linguistic journey ?
In American culture it is very important to show recognition for the achievement of a goal or a performance: from the workplace to the studies up to the sports field.
As it can be seen in many US-made movies and TV series (the most recent one "All-American"), Americans aspire to receive these trophies and awards.
"The experience I had in the United States was unique and although it ended a year and a half ago, I often remember the most beautiful and intense moments I had in college. My academic path was very interesting and engaging and I had the opportunity to learn and work with professors among the best in their field: from Economics to Marketing, Finance, Management etc. I realize that I have acquired very specific skills, on a human and relational level, as well as professional.
